NANO TEARS 0.05% 3 ML EYE DROP

WHAT IS  MECHANISM OF ACTION FOR NANO TEARS 0.05% - 3 ML EYE DROP (CYCLOSPORINE)?

In patients whose tear production is presumed to be suppressed due to ocular inflammation associated with keratoconjunctivitis sicca, cyclosporine emulsion is thought to act as a partial immunomodulator.

WHAT IS INDICATIONS FOR NANO TEARS 0.05% - 3 ML EYE DROP (CYCLOSPORINE)?

Nano Tear’s ophthalmic emulsion is indicated to increase tear production in patients whose tear production is presumed to be suppressed due to ocular inflammation associated with keratoconjunctivitis sicca.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION  FOR NANO TEARS 0.05% - 3 ML EYE DROP (CYCLOSPORINE)

Instill one drop Nano Tears ophthalmic emulsion twice a day in each eye approximately 12 hours apart. It can be used concomitantly with artificial tears, allowing a 15-minute interval between products.

WHAT IS CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR NANO TEARS 0.05% - 3 ML EYE DROP (CYCLOSPORINE)

Nano Tears is contraindicated in patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients in the formulation.

WHAT IS PRECAUTIONS FOR NANO TEARS 0.05% - 3 ML EYE DROP (CYCLOSPORINE)?

PREGNANCY

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of Nano Tears in pregnant women. It should be administered to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.

NURSING MOTHERS

Cyclosporine is known to be excreted in human milk following systemic administration, but excretion in human milk after topical treatment has not been investigated. Although blood concentrations are undetectable after topical administration of Nano Tear’s ophthalmic emulsion, caution should be exercised when Nano Tears is administered to a nursing woman.

PEDIATRIC USE

The safety and efficacy of Nano Tear’s ophthalmic emulsion have not been established in pediatric patients below the age of 16.

GERIATRIC USE

No overall difference in safety or effectiveness has been observed between elderly and younger patients.

Store in a cool dry place. Protect from light.

HOW NANO TEARS WORKS

Cyclosporine binds to cyclophilin. The complex then inhibits calcineurin which is normally responsible for activating transcription of interleukin 2. Cyclosporine also inhibits lymphokine production and interleukin release.
